Hopefully, you have done a bit of research on sunraders. This sunrader has the modifications and specifications that I wanted after doing the research, on items like the upgraded rear axle, etc.
We just returned from a 2000 mile trip from the pacific northwest, through washington, around the mountain streams and rivers in idaho, through oregon, and on through nevada to the bay area. Not a hitch, she ran great, getting 18-20 mpg, from sea level, up to 8000′, with daytime temps ranging from 90-100 degrees. Burned zero oil.
This vehicle has:
No water leaks
Power is the famed & trusty toyota 22r engine, which was new 10,000 miles ago
New (2000 miles ago) 11 ply rv tires(you can park her for months and the tires don’t get flat spots
Fridge works great on 12v, propane, 110v
Two new batteries, with an inverter/charger
Fresh water system works great, water heater works great, as does the furnace for cold weather camping.
Mostly stock interior (dated brown upholstery, with nice factory seat covers up front. I took out the shag carpet in the main area, and put hard bamboo flooring in, so that you can clean the floor easily.
Curtains are there but faded and old, but they provide privacy, and I pull them back when driving.
She tops out in the mountains between 65 and 70, and drives nicely all day at 65 mph
Wipers and washer work great, brakes are fine and were checked when I bought the tires.
Power steering works great, no squeals, no issues.
Hoses and fan belts all good shape
Body good, but original. Paint is all there but oxidized. This rig has not been waxed, maybe ever.
Like I said, we just took a long fly fishing trip in her, in pretty harsh conditions and she never gave us a lick of trouble, no overheating, no issues at all.
What does not work:
Airconditioning up front (turns on, but the condenser looks pretty banged up. I never fixed that, because the system was designed for a pickup cab and they don’t cool the whole interior well, even when functioning properly.
The in dash radio works, but is pretty crappy. (stock speakers and a cheesey equalizer. We just use a portable bose bluetooth stereo and pump music and radio off of our phones)
That’s it, she really is a cool and reliable unit.
Her price is firm, as I looked for 3 months for this one, when I bought her a couple years ago, and she is exactly what I was looking for, as the above technical factors were everything I was looking for in a sunrader. The other non-fiberglass shell type units (dolphins, etc) were not even considered, due to leaks, squeaks and other issues. There is a reason these sunraders never go down in value.
So, please no low ballers. This unit will not be sold for 4, 5, 6, or $7000. Just being considerate here, I don’t want you to take the time out of your day to see her, here in alameda, if you are looking for a fixer upper or cheap rig.
Her price is fair, and below what I have in her.
Thanks for your interest.
