More Details: Up for sale is a very rare 1985 Toyota Dolphin 21′ RV that is in excellent shape with only 104K original miles. I purchased this RV with the intentions of using it but never really got around to it and it’s been sitting and deserves use. I purchased it from a family in Orlando, FL who owed the RV for several years and used it frequently. I just put 6 BRAND NEW Sumitomo Touring LST with the heaviest load range I could find for a 14″ tire. They literally have 5 miles on them. This RV has been upgraded to 1-Ton axles. It runs exceptionally well but does start hard, which from what I have researched is a common issue with the 22RE Toyota engine. After its shut off it takes a bit of cranking time for fuel to reach injectors before it fires. Once it starts it runs very well. It’s a strong little 4 cylinder and its mated to an automatic transmission with overdrive. It drives VERY nice and goes down the highway straight and tight, its definitely capable of taking long hauls comfortably.
When I purchased this Dolphin the owner said everything worked with the exception of the cruise control, cigarette outlet, in cab A/C (however roof ac works AWESOME), some exterior marker lights, the awning is missing the clips to hold cover shut and its currently wired shut while the awning is stowed away (small hole in awning I pictured the size of a marker head), roof AC cover is cracked and missing some plastics but it still operates perfectly fine. I have tested pretty much everything inside and everything seems to function great. Roof light, 4 burners, refrigerator, microwave, speakers, etc… I did NOT try the oven or any of the water hookups but I was told they do function properly and the hoses are all complete to hook up to sewage and fresh water. There are also water storage tanks under the seats. The cab and home itself are in excellent condition and it’s VERY clean. Recently upholstery that is matched throughout the RV. It has always been cleaned and treated and properly with respect and it definitely shows. It smells good inside with NO funny odors at all, including the bathroom which is FULL bathroom which is rare. There is a TON of storage inside and all the doors hold shut nicely. No vibrations or creaks when driving down the road.
Yes the RV has cosmetic issues but nothing detrimental, I haven’t seen any signs of leaks anywhere. Some surface rust here and there and a little underneath but no rotting. Some repairs have been made to the exterior which you can see in the photos. Overall it looks great and more than gets the job done. The rear rack is SUPER convenient and also holds two bikes along with the spare. The extension cord to hookup is in excellent shape and about 20′ long and also has an adaptor to hook up to 110V outlet. The laminate flooring is very nice and fairly new. This RV has fresh oil and is really ready to use.
